2.Laboratory for Cell Mechanics and Tissue Engineering
This lab was founded in 2001. It consist of three rooms: A cell and tissue culturing facility, a microscopy room (fully blindable) and a preparation room. It has all major cell- and tissue culturing facilities such as incubators, laminar air flow cabinets, freezers etc. Besides standard tissues and cell lines, the lab is certified for handling of fresh human tissue and cells and for handling genetically modified organisms (classification C1 according to Dutch law). The main activities in this lab are: cell culture and cell multiplication and tissue engineering of load-bearing tissues.
